I am planning a trip to Australia in 2 weeks and still trying to get this app working. Yeas, I know that Japanese passport is too modern which makes the app hard to cope with it, but the selfie function doesn’t work at all. I’ve tried every what is recommended by ETA and the SNS and ChatGPT. It just won’t work.. There are so many poor reviews and seeing people giving up their trip and three is no alternative is absolutely stupid. I think Australia is using this to control the over tourism issue of their own. I never had such hate against this country , now I am.

I’m still not sure the app actually captured a proper photo, but hey, progress is progress. Tried the web instead? Perfect—just make sure you love long-winded forms and surprise $190 AUD fees. All of this for something required to enter the country. Brilliant system, truly.

iPhone15です。 オーストラリアに旅行するためにこのアプリをインストールしました。 ETA登録のために何度やってもパスポート読み取りしましたが、うまく読み取れずどうしようか悩んでましたが、レビュー内に「スマホの言語設定を英語環境にして、元号表記ではなく西暦表記に変更すれば読み取りやすくなる」とのこと。 早速、英語環境、西暦表記に設定変更し直して再チャレンジしたところ、パスポート読み取りに成功しました。それでもやっぱり何度か読み取り失敗しましたが、成功したので良かったです。 読み取り失敗する日本パスポートをお持ちの方は、英語環境、西暦表記にすることをお勧めします。
